In this TED talk, Shawn Achor promotes the benefits of focusing on being happy first. His presentation style is a bit fast but made digestible by the sprinkles of humor throughout. Shawn suggests that what we’ve been conditioned to believe about how happiness follows success needs to be reset. It starts with being positive and “happy”, then energy, productivity, creativity, and success will come naturally.
Too often we sit on auto pilot and take our brains for granted. We know that running builds endurance, and weight training builds strength. But we rarely apply the benefits of repeated behavior to something as intangible as positive thinking. (Maybe there was something to that Yes movie all along huh?)
